Investments at the border and new solutions

The head of the Podlasie border guards emphasized that the services must constantly look for new solutions, because new ways of illegally crossing the border are emerging.
Reasons for the stabilization of the situation
Gen. Sławomir Klekotka, when asked about the reasons for improving the situation, pointed to the effectiveness of the services' actions and the increasingly lower temperatures, which make it difficult to stay in camps on both sides of the border. He pointed out that drones make it easier to detect fires in the forest and people staying in these places. He also added that conditions on the Belarusian side are becoming more and more difficult.
The commander also emphasized that one of the factors influencing the current situation are the announcements of the opening of road border crossings with Belarus in Podlasie. The Belarusian side is waiting for confirmation of these decisions. Currently, there are only two railway freight crossings in the region – in Kuźnica and Siemianówka.
