Ten years after the attacks of November 13, 2015, France is preparing to pay tribute to the victims of these attacks that left 132 dead in the capital and the suburbs, the bloodiest in the country's recent history. As a sign of tribute, the Eiffel Tower is illuminated in the colors of the French flag on November 12 and 13, reports News.ro citing TF1.

On November 13, 2015, Islamist attackers armed with rifles and bombs targeted the Bataclan concert hall, six bars and restaurants, as well as the perimeter of the Stade de France stadium, located near the French capital, killing 132 people, including 90 spectators at the Bataclan concert, and injuring hundreds of others.

“Ten years later, Paris and the whole nation pay tribute this week to the victims of November 13, 2015, their families and loved ones,” wrote the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, on social networks.

“In their memory, the Eiffel Tower will be illuminated in blue, white and red on Wednesday, November 12, and Thursday, November 13, at nightfall. Paris remembers. We will never forget them,” said the mayor of the French capital.

Quite often, the Eiffel Tower is specially illuminated according to events.

On November 16, 2015, three days after the attacks, it had already been illuminated in the colors of the national flag, as a tribute to the victims.

The tricolor flag also lit up the monument after the Nice bombing in 2016, when a truck deliberately drove into crowds of people celebrating Bastille Day on the Promenade des Anglais, killing 86 people and injuring 458 others.
