In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a court sentenced a contractor to a fine of 400 thousand rubles for committing a scam during the execution of a municipal contract.
The prosecutor's office said that in July 2024, the municipality entered into 4 contracts for a total amount of over 1.4 million rubles. The contractor had to dismantle the abandoned houses and remove the foundations and construction waste from the sites to a specialized site.
“Due to workload at other sites, the contractor decided to transfer the work to his friend, an individual entrepreneur, and he began dismantling. The work was completed, the mountains of broken concrete and brick disappeared from sight. However, at this stage the adventure began: instead of taking the waste to the landfill, the entrepreneur found a “new home” for it – a free plot of land not intended for waste.” — told the prosecutor's office.
The merchant provided fictitious documents for payment. The contractor, trusting the partner, handed over these reports to the customer and received the money. The amount of damage caused to the budget amounted to 380 thousand rubles.
The court found the man guilty of fraud (Part. 3 tbsp. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and sentenced him to a fine of 400 thousand rubles. Also, at the request of the prosecutor, the convicted person is obliged to compensate for damages.
