We need young people ready to defend their homeland. That is why the universal defense training program was launched. You are very much needed in this – said the Deputy Prime Minister and the head of the Ministry of National Defence, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, after signing the cooperation agreement between the Ministry of National Defense and the Association of Riflemen's Shooting Brotherhoods of the Republic of Poland.


The cooperation agreement signed on Monday will enable the use of the potential of 125 brotherhoods in the field of defense education, firearms training and building personnel reserves.
As the head of the Ministry of National Defense emphasized, the Kurkowi brothers are an extremely colorful point of reference to Polish tradition. – We need this color. It is also understood differently by young generations, he said. – It's a beautiful Polish tradition. This is our beautiful homeland, enriched by this type of activities and behaviors. This patriotic, historical and traditional dimension will be complemented in a very practical dimension – added Kosiniak-Kamysz.
He emphasized that “today we need young people ready to defend our homeland.” – That's why education with the army, that's why the universal defense training program was launched. You are very much needed in this – he said to everyone gathered. – We need you all the more to carry this torch of education, information about security, science of security, organizing joint projects, training, and using the logistic and infrastructure potential associated with your organization – he added.
He assessed that the agreement concluded was beneficial to both parties, and that “one could not imagine a better moment to sign it than the evening before the state celebrations.”
Andrzej Pawłowski, vice president of the organization, spoke at the ceremony. – Today marks the 35th anniversary of the signing of the act of reactivation of the Union of Riflemen's Shooting Brotherhoods after World War II. I must admit that this is a very important time for us. It shows that the state and the chanterelle brotherhood can work together for the good of the country and the good of society, he noted.
As emphasized during the ceremony, the Kurek brothers participate in state ceremonies, cooperate with local governments, schools and cultural institutions, promoting civic attitudes and responsibility for the community. ZKBS RP is also a member of the European Federation of Historical Shooters (EGS – European Community of Historical Shooting Guilds), which brings together fraternal organizations from many European countries.
