A 24-year-old man is accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in front of a church in the capital. Taken to the police station, the aggressor became violent during the arrest and bit an officer who intervened to prevent himself from harming himself.
According to the Capital Police, the Sexual Assault Service was notified, by calling 112, that a 14-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted while she was in front of a place of worship in Sector 3, writes News.ro.
The police officers who went to the scene identified both the minor who was allegedly sexually assaulted and the man suspected of committing the act.
The two were taken to the Police to establish the facts and the circumstances in which they occurred and to take the necessary measures.
Based on the evidence, the investigators determined that, on Sunday after lunch, while the minor was in front of a place of worship, taking advantage of her inability to defend herself, the man would have touched her in an intimate area and tried to kiss her.
Thus, the man was detained for 24 hours, and when this measure was implemented, he violently tried to harm himself, at which point he was immobilized, but he bit one of the policemen, injuring him.
The police officers of the Sexual Assault Service continue the investigation, under the supervision of the case prosecutor from the Prosecutor's Office attached to the 3rd District Court, for sexual assault on a minor.
Regarding the act against the policeman, the investigations will be taken over by the Prosecutor's Office attached to the District 5 Court.
