Artillery production capabilities are growing rapidly in Europe and in 2027, production may reach 2 million pieces per year. In the early 2030s, supply will most likely exceed demand – writes “Rzeczpospolita” on Monday.

The newspaper emphasizes that the West is increasing its capacity to produce 155 mm bullets. As he enumerates, in recent weeks the German Rheinmetall has started investing in an ammunition factory in Lithuania. Previously he did this, among others: in Latvia and Romania, and the company's new plant in Lower Saxony is just starting production. From 2027, it is to produce 350,000. bullets per year.
In turn, in Poland, a few weeks ago, the cornerstone was laid for the 155 mm ammunition factory in Kraśnik (Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa), and Ukrainian Armor is just starting production in Ukraine under the CSG license.
“Rz” indicates that in 2027, the production of 155 mm ammunition in Europe may reach 2 million pieces per year. According to the daily's estimates, if we add the capabilities in Ukraine and the United States, then – unless a major armed conflict breaks out – in a few years we may see supply over demand in the West. The newspaper notes that this should reduce the price of missiles; However, Western countries may then face a dilemma: whether to subsidize unprofitable plants or let them go bankrupt. (PAP)
