Russia launches Khabarovsk. A new era of strategic underwater weapons

— Today we have an important event. The heavy missile cruiser Khabarovsk is launched at the famous Sevmash shipyard, said Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov after smashing a champagne bottle on the ship's hull.

Where was the Khabarovsk submarine launched?

What weapons does the new Khabarovsk submarine have?

How many torpedoes can the Poseidon ship carry?

Does it know when the second Ulyanovsk submarine will enter service?

“Missile cruiser” does not fully reflect the character of this structure; in fact, the unit constitutes a new category of strategic underwater weapon. Khabarovsk can carry on board, among others: Poseidon, a giant torpedo equipped with a miniature reactor and a thermonuclear warhead with a megaton force, capable of sailing to any region of the globe at great depths.

Russia is building the second submarine of this class, called Ulyanovskaya. It is not known when it will enter service. Russia assumes that each ship will be able to carry six Poseidon torpedoes. One of the ships will probably sail in the Atlantic and the other in the Pacific.
