The Steven Tyler Museum under the microscope of the services. It's about financial embezzlement

The real name and surname of the 77-year-old world-famous rocker is Steven Victor Tallarico. His grandfather came from the small Calabrian town of Cotronei, and it was there that the musician's museum was to be established. The decision on this matter was made in 2013 during Tyler's meeting with his Italian cousin, a lawyer, after one of Aerosmith's concerts.

Moved by the idea of creating a museum presenting his career and family ties with the town, the artist went there to agree on the details of the initiative. The inhabitants and authorities of Cotronea welcomed him enthusiastically. Steven Tyler then promised that he would come to the opening of the museum and donate memorabilia on the condition that the facility would be built in the local Palazzo Bevilacqua, which belonged to his ancestors.

Confusion around the museum. An investigation has started

The authorities of the Calabria region allocated EUR 1.3 million for the rock star museum. However, problems arose already at the initial stage of preparations, because it turned out that the organizers had not contacted the current owners of the property and decided that the museum would be built in another place.

When Tyler learned of the location change, he reacted strongly and took legal action to prohibit Cotrone authorities from using his name and likeness. Despite this, the local administration continued work on the museum in an attempt to save the allocated funds. Then the justice system took action and revealed serious irregularities in the management of public funds and tenders for the museum. The prosecutor's office investigated 15 people from the local administration, including two former mayors and members of the commune board.

As the media noted, a small town in the province of Crotone was left with grief over the unfulfilled dreams of rock tourism, which would have been born with the museum of the music legend.
