The day before, on October 23, the defeat of the Ryazan oil refinery by the Russian company Rosneft, against which the United States imposed sanctions, was confirmed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to Reuters interlocutors, the CDU-4 installation was urgently stopped after it caught fire as a result of a drone attack.
Its capacity is 4 million metric tons of oil per year, or 80 thousand barrels per day, which is about a quarter of the refinery's total capacity.
Agency sources said the plant still processes oil, but in smaller volumes.
One of the Reuters interlocutors said that some units adjacent to CDU-4 were also shut down at the refinery.
Last year, the plant processed 13.1 million tons of oil, producing 2.3 million tons of gasoline, 3.4 million tons of diesel fuel and 4.2 million tons of fuel oil.
