The defense of Sergei Natarov reported another violation of his rights

The lawyer of the Deputy Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Sergei Natarov spoke about another violation of the rights of his client.

Alexander Khropot explained that during the interrogation of the ex-head of Igarka Evgeniy Nikitin, it turned out that in 2023, during the next consideration of the issue of extending the period of detention of Sergei Natarov in custody, his interests were represented by a lawyer who was appointed by the court. The politician did not give consent to this.

“His interests were represented by a lawyer, who at the same time was the defender of another accomplice in the crimes, whose position in the criminal case differs from Natarov’s position. Thus, it has been established that the right to defense of Sergei Vasilyevich has been grossly violated, since by virtue of the law the same lawyer does not have the right to represent persons whose interests contradict each other,” the defense lawyer explained.

The lawyer said that he plans to send an appeal to the president of the Chamber of Lawyers of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, and also raise the question of re-verifying the legality of extending the preventive measure in view of newly discovered circumstances.
