In the Talsko-Garevsky nature reserve in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a curious elk sniffed, licked and tried to take away a camera trap. The personnel were shared in the directorate for protected areas.
The camera captured how two moose calmly fed on the salt lick, while the third began to study an unfamiliar technique. Sokhaty sniffed the camera trap and, judging by the sounds, licked it. Because of these manipulations, the camera tilted and got dirty.

“It’s usually the moose that are the most curious, and here’s why. The camera is most often installed on a hill so that animals do not accidentally “privatize” them, and also to cover a larger viewing angle. And it is the elk with its impressive size (the height of an adult elk with its head sometimes exceeds three meters) that can reach the installed equipment,” the directorate explained.
