Before the approach of the winter season, ice and snowfalls, Krasnoyarsk Railways intensified preventive work at railway crossings in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Khakassia, Kemerovo and Irkutsk regions as part of the “Attention, moving!” campaign, which will last until November 20.

It will remind residents of the regions of the need to comply with traffic rules when driving through the tracks, as well as the special danger of accidents in such areas. As part of the campaign, representatives of the highway, together with traffic police inspectors, will organize raids at crossings with the highest traffic volumes, during which they will hold explanatory conversations with motorists and hand out leaflets.

In addition, railway workers will visit driving schools and automobile enterprises, where they will conduct targeted work with drivers and show videos telling about what the inattention and haste of someone behind the wheel can result in.

KrasRussian Railways attaches great importance to the issues of ensuring traffic safety at railway crossings, improving their condition, and introducing new technical means aimed at reducing accidents. Thus, the 2025 program to renovate 34 such facilities is currently nearing completion.

It should be noted that since the beginning of the year, six accidents have occurred at crossings of the Krasnoyarsk highway, as a result of which two people were injured. In all cases, the cause was non-compliance with traffic rules by vehicle drivers. In January – September last year there was not a single such accident within the boundaries of the road.

A collision between a car and a train is one of the most dangerous. Such accidents leave virtually no chance for car drivers to survive. In addition, attempts to pass in front of the train can lead to carriages derailing, putting train drivers and passengers at risk.

Krasnoyarsk Railway calls on motorists to be extremely careful and strictly adhere to traffic rules when crossing tracks.
