Limp Bizkit bassist Sam Rivers has died. The announcement was made by the band.
“Today we lost our brother. Our bandmate. The heartbeat of our hearts,” the band wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of Rivers performing on stage, according to News.ro.
“Sam Rivers wasn't just our bass player – he was simply magical. He was the pulse behind every song, the calm in the chaos, the soul in the sound,” the band continued. “From the first note we played together, Sam brought a light and rhythm that cannot be replaced. His talent was natural, his presence unforgettable, his heart enormous.”
“We've shared so many moments—crazy moments, quiet moments, beautiful moments—and every single one of them meant more because Sam was there,” the Limp Bizkit members continued. “He was a one-of-a-kind man. A true legend among legends. And his spirit will live on forever in every beat, on every stage, in every memory.”
“We love you Sam. We will always carry you in our hearts. Rest in peace brother. Your music will never stop,” concluded the post, signed by the band's frontman Fred Durst, drummer John Otto, guitarist Wes Borland and DJ Lethal.

In a comment under the post, Lethal chimed in to ask fans to respect Rivers' family's privacy.
“Give Sam the flowers and listen to Sam Rivers bass all day!” the DJ wrote. “We are shocked. Rest in peace bro! You will live on through your music and the lives you have saved with your music, charity work and friends. We are grieving. Enjoy every millisecond of life. It is not guaranteed.”
Rivers was a founding member of the band Limp Bizkit after befriending Durst while working in a convenience store. The two played together in the band Malachi Sage before forming the band in 1994.
Limp Bizkit, known for songs like “Behind Blue Eyes” and “Take a Look Around”, became one of the most influential bands of the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Three times nominated for Grammy awards, with five studio albums released from 1997 to 2011, sold in over 40 million copies, Limp Bizkit performed twice in Romania.
