The event was coordinated by Dr. Andrei Haidar, who also heads the MedLife Center of Excellence in Gastroenterology, and brought together doctors from fields such as bariatric surgery, gastroenterology, diabetology, nutrition and medical psychology. The meeting offered an integrated perspective on the treatment of obesity, a complex condition that requires a multidisciplinary approach and personalized therapeutic solutions.

The event program included thematic presentations, live bariatric interventions, interactive sessions and a practical module dedicated to bariatric endoscopy, held during the two days of the event. Topics discussed at the conference include the role of bariatric surgery and endoscopic treatments in the modern era, nutritional management, the psychological impact of the disease and the link between obesity and diabetes

A point of interest of the event was the bariatric endoscopy hands-on session, organized on the second day of the masterclass, in an intensive practical format, with a limited number of participants. In this module, young doctors had the opportunity to practice procedures directly, under the guidance of specialists, in a controlled simulation setting, using biological models. The format, rarely found in Romania, offered the participants a deeply applied learning experience close to the reality in the operating room.

“Through this masterclass, we aimed to bring together all the specialties involved in the treatment of obesity in the same framework and to facilitate the exchange of experience between doctors, in a practical and applied context. Obesity management requires an integrated approach, and such meetings contribute directly to the improvement of the therapeutic solutions offered to patients”, said Dr. Andrei Haidar, the organizer of the event.

Beyond the practical component, the masterclass highlighted the modern technologies used within the MedLife network and the level of innovation achieved in the area of bariatric endoscopy, reflecting the company's constant investment in training programs and advanced training for doctors. The dynamics and applied character of the workshop also offered a good potential for the development of educational and inspirational content for the general public, bringing to the fore the training process of the new generation of specialists.
