EU trade policy will be the topic of the next webinar of the CASE Center for Social and Economic Analysis, organized in cooperation with mBank.

Despite ongoing globalization, protectionism still plays a significant role in the economic policies of countries. In recent years, we have seen its revival, especially in the context of trade tensions between the world's largest economies, raw material crises and the pursuit of self-sufficiency. More countries, including members of the European Community, are discussing increasing the protection of their producers against foreign competition through customs duties, subsidies, import restrictions and administrative regulations.
The seminar guests will be:
- prof. Jan Hagemejer, president of the management board of CASE, WNE UW,
- prof. Jan Michałek, WNE UW,
- Marek Wąsiński, head of the World Economy Team, Polish Economic Institute
- Dr. Przemysław Woźniak, Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs, European Commission
The meeting will be led by Dr. Ewa Balcerowicz, Chairwoman of the CASE Foundation Council, and Andrzej Robaszewski, Director of Fiscal Policy and Sustainable Development of CASE.
The webinar will take place online on Thursday, October 9, 2025. Broadcast starts at 3:00 p.m.
