The Ministry of Digital Development called fake messages distributed in instant messengers allegedly on behalf of the ministry about plans to restrict access to the network. This is stated in the official Telegram channel Ministry of Digital Development.

“Information distributed in instant messengers allegedly on behalf of the press service of the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia about planned restrictions on access to the Internet on weekends not true“, the ministry said in a statement.

According to the Ministry of Digital Development, fixed, mobile and satellite Internet are operating as normal, taking into account the security features in each constituent entity of the Russian Federation. There are no plans to turn off the Internet, the ministry emphasized.
