The court found a 26-year-old resident of Krasnoyarsk guilty of public calls for extremist activities.

As the prosecutor's office said, the defendant developed a persistent hostility towards one of the nationalities during his school years:

“The roots of this hatred went back to his past – the reason was protracted conflicts with one of the school teachers, representing a culture that the young man did not like. Years later, this hostility spilled out into the digital space – the Krasnoyarsk resident left a series of comments under the publications on his page on the social network. These texts contained a direct call for hostility and violence against a group of people united along ethnic lines.”

According to Part 2 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the court sentenced the Krasnoyarsk resident to 1.5 years of suspended imprisonment. In addition, he is prohibited from posting appeals and other materials on the Internet for 2 years.
