According to Digi24, the project is to be debated in the Chamber of Deputies who from the final vote.

According to the project, the operators requesting the operating license from the Supervisory Committee of the National Gambling Office will have to comply with a new condition: the prohibition to place gaming rooms in residential buildings or to the ground floor of mixed destination buildings.

“The proposed space is not located on the ground floor of a residential building or on the ground floor of a mixed destination building, buildings defined according to the provisions of Law no. 227/2015, with subsequent amendments and completions”, It is shown in the project.

The proposal comes after more and more gambling rooms have been opened in various communities, which has affected public health, social safety and family economy.

The phenomenon of gambling has had serious effects, especially on young people and vulnerable people, including gambling and economic and social costs incurred by the affected families.

“Gambling can lead to addiction, and the location of gaming rooms on the ground floor of the blocks, near the homes, can facilitate the constant access of vulnerable people to these activities, thus contributing to the increase of addiction.
