Russian drones with Swedish parts. Are they in drones that fly over Nordic countries?

Despite the EU sanctions, the Swedish SKF ball bearings are used in Russian drones – he revealed on Tuesday, citing Ukrainian sources, “Aftonbladet”. The newspaper reminds that these parts played an important role in Hitler's war machine.

The Stockholm daily as evidence published photos in which the Ukrainian army disassembles two Iranian Drona Shaad construction, currently produced in Russia under the name Geran-2. In one of them in the engine, soldiers find the SKF Explorer 6310 bearing, and in the second model Explorer 6005/C3. The markings show that the components come from the SKF factory in China.

According to media, the data on Russian imports show that ball bearings were SKF most -bought products most often bought by Russia. In the years 2023-2024 their value amounted to almost 330 million crowns (EUR 29 million).

According to the bearing newspaper SKF can also go to Russia from plants in Sweden and Germany through intermediaries, e.g. Turkey.

Representatives of the SKF group assured that the company warns sanctions, and in the case of detecting irregularities, it breaks cooperation with distributors. The company drew attention to the possibility of existing in the trade of illegal fakes, and also recommended cautious treatment of information from the Russian authorities.

The commentator of the newspaper notes that Swedish bearings played an important role in Hitler's war machine and were exported to the Third Reich without any obstacles until 1943. She reminds that the US threatened even neutral during World War II of Sweden with the SKF factory in Goeteburg.

“Is it possible to prove that SKF knows about the bearing path to the front?” – the author wonders. “What is in the drones that fly over Nordic countries? Will the Danish army find ball bearings with the inscription SKF,” he asks, referring to the last cases of incidents with unidentified unmanned unmanned in Denmark.

As we read on the SKF website, the company was founded in 1907 at Goeteborg. It is present in OK, 130 countries, employs over 38 thousand. employees and has 17,000 distributors around the world.
