The German arms concern Rheinmetall will produce artillery shells for the Ukrainian army at the new weapon factory in Ukraine – said the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Denys Szmyhal on Thursday. On Wednesday, the area in the “Safe Region” was designated for the construction of a new plant.

“On September 9, in the safe region of Ukraine, the area for the construction of a new factory was designated, where Rheinmetall missiles will be produced for the needs of the defense forces (Ukraine),” wrote on the portal X Szmyhal, which this week met at the defense fair in London with the president of this German group Armin Papperger.
Rheinmetall is one of several European arms companies that has decided to invest in Ukraine. The Germans are planned to build four plants, which – in addition to missiles – are to produce, among others Military vehicles and anti -aircraft systems.
Szmyhal wrote on X on Thursday that air defense was also the subject of his conversations with the clerk, “in particular how to improve the solutions together that will help us fight the enemy's drones more effectively.” (PAP)
