Katarzyna Kieli to Lead Polish Media Business Following Warner Bros. Discovery Ownership Change

Katarzyna Kieli will remain at the helm of the Polish media business following the ownership transition at Warner Bros. Discovery. The new owner has confirmed that she will manage Skydance’s operations in Poland, as reported by Wirtualnemedia.pl.
According to internal communications obtained by the portal, Kieli will oversee the Polish subsidiary of the conglomerate, highlighting the scale and uniqueness of the group’s operations in Poland, which encompass television, news, sports, digital segments, and production.
Wirtualnemedia.pl reports that JB Perrette, who assumed the roles of Co-Chair and Chief Business Officer at Skydance TV and Skydance Direct-To-Consumer following the transaction, conveyed the decision to employees.
Kieli Maintains Influence in the Polish Media Landscape
This decision ensures continuity in managing one of the most significant assets within the new media group in Central and Eastern Europe, with TVN occupying a key position in Skydance’s Polish portfolio.
The report notes Kieli’s long association with the development of Discovery and Warner Bros. Discovery, having introduced Discovery to the Polish market in 2000 by establishing the company’s Warsaw office.
From 2017 to 2022, she served as President and Managing Director of Discovery EMEA, overseeing operations across 140 markets. She also supervised the integration of Discovery with Scripps Networks Interactive, which brought TVN into the group.
Major Ownership Change in the Media Sector
The acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery by Paramount Skydance was finalized on October 6, 2026. This merger combines two major media entities, integrating Warner Bros., Paramount, HBO, CBS, CNN, HBO Max, and TVN into a new structure.
For the Polish market, this means TVN is now part of an even larger international media conglomerate. Keeping Katarzyna Kieli in her leadership role signals that the new owner is opting to maintain the existing management model for local assets.
