Drones over military bases in Denmark

The official announcement stated that “drones were registered over several military facilities that night.” Although the army did not reveal more information about the situation, the Danish media reassured that none of the local airports was closed at night.
These are the next days when drones cause concern about security in the region. In the past, similar cases, both in Denmark and Norway, led to the temporary closure of several airports. The Minister of Defense of Denmark Troels Lund Poulsen and Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen described such events as a manifestation of hybrid activities.
On Friday evening, the Danish police announced an incident with the participation of “one or two drones” near the Karup military base. This is the largest military unit in Denmark, which plays a key role in the functioning of the armed forces. All military helicopters, aircraft supervision system, Aviation School and Technical Support Departments are located in its area.
At the moment, details of the identity of drone operators and motifs behind the incidents remain undisclosed. The authorities also did not present further steps that they intend to take in this matter.
