Ukrainian Lawmaker Dismisses Fears of Long Electricity Outages This Winter

Ukrainian MP Nagornyak has stated that there are no grounds to believe that long electricity outages, such as 16 hours without power, will occur this winter in Kyiv or any other regions of Ukraine. He attributed the situation to a significant drop in electricity consumption, particularly within the industrial sector, due to the impact of strikes on the metal industry. Currently, there is even a surplus in electricity generation. Outages that do occur are primarily due to necessary maintenance work. Nagornyak emphasized that if any outages happen this winter, they are expected to be short-lived.
