Drivers can now officially register minor traffic accidents using the Diia app on their smartphones, streamlining the process by eliminating the need for paper documentation and police presence. The system automatically verifies the necessary data, allowing the completed European protocol to be sent directly to insurance companies.
However, there are specific conditions that must be met: the accident must involve two vehicles, there should be no fatalities or injuries, and both drivers must have mandatory liability insurance.
Vyhivskyi noted, “Together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the National Police, and the MTSBU, we have improved the mechanism to make it as convenient as possible for drivers.” He added that this initiative is part of the broader digitalization of services provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
