Shakira and Gerard Pique appeared in a Barcelona court on Tuesday to discuss adjustments to the visitation schedule for their two sons. The singer wishes for Milan and Sasha to travel less frequently by plane between Miami and Barcelona to visit their father.
At 49 years old, Shakira believes that long and frequent flights could negatively impact the children’s physical and emotional well-being and disrupt their school routine, as reported by sport.aktuality.sk.
The artist resides in Miami with their sons, while Pique, 39, lives in Barcelona.
Shakira’s Proposal for Gerard Pique in Court
Shakira proposed that Pique travel to Miami during shorter school vacation periods. This arrangement would allow 13-year-old Milan and 11-year-old Sasha to spend more time at home and maintain their daily routines.
The singer’s attorneys assert that the request is not intended to reduce the time the children spend with their father.
After being together for over a decade, Shakira and Pique announced their separation in 2022. Currently, the singer is in Madrid for the final performance of her world tour.
Pique has long been regarded as one of the world’s top defenders. He began his career at Manchester United and eventually played 397 matches for Barcelona while also representing Spain in 102 appearances.
