Russian Strikes in Chernihiv Oblast Claim Lives on Putin’s Birthday

On the day marking Vladimir Putin’s birthday, Russian forces launched an airstrike that resulted in the destruction of a five-story building in Pryluky, Chernihiv Oblast. President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the attack has so far resulted in 5 fatalities and left 26 others injured, among them 5 children.
Zelensky described the strike as one of the most insidious, noting that it targeted key infrastructure. “One of the main targets is our energy system. This attack involved a total of 70 missiles, including many ballistic missiles and drones. Unfortunately, we managed to intercept only a portion of them. Russian ballistic missiles continue to pose the greatest challenge for us,” he stated.
