Governor Chibis testified in the case of an attempt on his life. He told how Alexander Bydanov tried to kill him. Soon the accused asked for his forgiveness. But he considers them insincere. Because this is the first attempt to apologize since the attack.
Bydanov’s mother wrote a letter to the head of the Murmansk region – she said: I understand that my son committed a crime, which means he should go to prison – there is no need to forgive. The prosecution asked to reclassify the case from the article “Attempted Murder” to the article “Murder”. The maximum penalty for the first is 15 years, for the second – life imprisonment.
Bydanov attacked Andrei Chibis on April 4 in the city of Apatity. There, the official met with local residents near the Stroitel cultural center. After the official part, Alexander waylaid the governor and stabbed him in the stomach.
