The government forecasts that the increase in Poland's GDP in 2026 will amount to 3.5 percent, and the average annual CPI inflation will be at 3.0 percent. – results from the assumptions for the state budget project at 2026, adopted on Thursday by the Council of Ministers.


“The Council of Ministers adopted the proposal of average annual salary growth indicators in the state budget sphere for 2026 and information on the forecast macroeconomic quantities constituting the basis for the development of a draft budget act for 2026” – wrote in a communiqué.
According to the government's assumptions, the dynamics of Poland's GDP in 2026 will amount to 3.5 percent, and the average annual dynamics of the prices of consumer goods and services will be created at 3.0 percent.
The inflation forecast for 2026 was reduced compared to the “long-term macroeconomic assumptions taken over in April for 2025-2028”. In April, the Ministry of Finance assumed that the dynamics of Poland's GDP in 2026 would amount to 3.5 percent, and the average annual CPI inflation would amount to 3.8 percent.
According to the assumptions adopted on Thursday, the nominal average gross salary in the national economy in 2026 will increase by 6.7 percent, and the nominal average gross remuneration in the enterprise sector by 6.9 percent.
According to government forecasts, the registered unemployment rate at the end of 2026 will amount to 4.9 percent, and the average employment in the state budget sphere – approx. 618.9 thousand. full -time jobs.
The government also proposes the average annual salary growth rate in the state budget sphere in 2026 in the amount of 103 percent. In nominal terms, which means that remuneration and base amounts in 2026 will be valorized by 3 percent, i.e. the forecast average annual inflation for 2026.
The average annual salary growth indicators are annually negotiations within the Social Dialogue Council. The Council of Ministers will also submit them to nationwide trade union organizations associating employees of the state budgetary sphere. (PAP Biznes)
