Poland is emerging as a global leader in the rapid growth of its ultra-wealthy population, defined as individuals with assets exceeding $30 million. Between 2021 and 2026, the number of such individuals in Poland is projected to rise by approximately 109%, as reported by Bloomberg.
This growth rate is the highest among the countries analyzed by Bloomberg. Poland is also expected to experience a significant increase in the number of ultra-wealthy individuals in the next five years, with projections indicating it could exceed 60%.
Other countries also showing notable growth rates for their richest citizens include Romania, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore, but Poland stands out as the clear leader in this regard.
What Drives This Growth?
The impressive percentage increase is partly attributed to a low starting point. Just a few years ago, the number of individuals with over $30 million in assets was relatively small in Poland, making it easier to double this figure compared to markets where the number of ultra-wealthy individuals is significantly higher.
Factors related to asset valuation also play a role. As indicated by “Puls Biznesu”, the strengthening of the Polish zloty against the dollar, alongside relatively high inflation, contributes to this outcome. Additionally, economic growth and the increasing value of Polish companies are significant contributors.
These data illustrate not only changes in currency exchange rates and price levels but also the growing wealth in the Polish economy.
