Minister of Justice Waldemar Żurek decided about an immediate break in the official duties of the District Court in Lubań, who drove the car under the influence of alcohol – MS said on Thursday.

The media reported that on Monday evening the judge of the District Court in Lubań Dariusz Kliś, leading a motorhome, hit parked cars and a fence of the house.

The Ministry of Justice announced on Thursday that Minister Żurek signed “August 20, 2025. An ordinance of an immediate break in the service activities of Dariusz K. – a judge of the District Court in Lubań” and that “this is the effect of the last incident with driving a car by judge K. under the influence of alcohol.”

“The break in the activities will apply until the disciplinary court issues a resolution allowing the referee to pull the judge to criminal liability. Then he will be suspended ex officio,” it was informed.

The judge was detained by the police on Monday evening. According to MS's message, “under the influence of alcohol (he had over 1 mg/LW exhaled air, about 2 per mille) he drove a camper around Lubań and entered more fences.” As noted, monitoring from the scene of the incident was secured, and “in the medical facility in the presence of the prosecutor the judge was taken blood for the examination.” On Tuesday, the president of the Wrocław Court of Appeal informed the Minister of Justice in writing.

The MS statement wrote that “at the end of 2017, the then Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro conducted mass changes in the positions of presidents in the courts – he dismissed uncomfortable judges and advanced to trusted” and that “judge K. was then appointed as the president of the District Court in Jelenia Góra; earlier he was the president of the District Court in Miastko.”

The name of Judge Klisia appeared in media reports regarding the so -called The hatred scandal, which became loud in 2019. According to Onet information, a closed group called “Kasta” was to be created on WhatsApp, which exchanged ideas to slander some judges.
