Invigorating barley drink – I make it in a mug in 5 minutes from what I have in the kitchen

December is the time when you want to sleep until lunch, and coffee only makes you nervous. Instead of a third cup, it is better to drink a warm drink that does not disperse, but collects. It gives a slight boost of energy, improves digestion and prepares the body for a relaxing day.

It is prepared in a mug and every housewife has everything she needs.

You will need:

Water – 250 ml
Malt coffee or instant barley drink – 1 tsp.
Milk – 2 tbsp. l.
Honey – 1/2 tsp.
Orange zest – a small pinch or 1 orange slice
A pinch of dry mint or vanilla – optional

How to cook:

  • Pour hot water into a mug.
  • Add barley drink, milk, orange zest or slice and spices.
  • Cover with a saucer and let sit for 4-5 minutes.
  • Remove the slice, add honey and stir.

Barley tones due to natural carbohydrates, not caffeine. Orange provides vitamin C and vigor without harshness. Honey calms the nervous system, and milk softens the taste.

Drink this drink in the morning instead of coffee, and the day will not start with anxiety.
