The succession battle within the Solorz empire has reached its conclusion following a settlement agreement that was reached in Liechtenstein. Legal rulings have allowed billionaire Zygmunt Solorz’s children—Piotr Żak, Tobias Solorz, and Aleksandra Żak—to take over the reins of the media, telecommunications, and energy businesses. Although the succession was formally completed, disputes regarding influence within the family and business remained ongoing until now.
According to reports, the Solorz family made a joint announcement confirming that they have reached a confidential agreement to end all legal disputes, a resolution prompted by the final rulings from courts in Liechtenstein. Signatories included Zygmunt Solorz, his wife Justyna Kulka, and all of their children.
Sources indicate that Piotr Żak has emerged as the central figure in the empire’s leadership. “The agreement effectively formalizes the changes in the companies resulting from the court rulings in Liechtenstein. This marks a leadership transition,” stated a source from the management of one of the companies. Piotr is noted for his close involvement with teams and decision-making, sharing responsibilities with key managers. His leadership has been recognized and accepted by both his father and siblings, reflecting ongoing support from the management teams.
While Tobias Solorz, who resides in the United Arab Emirates, and Aleksandra Żak, living in the United States, occupy supervisory board positions, they are not involved in daily operations. The settlement outlines future governance of the family’s assets and aims to restore unity and shared goals within the family.
“The agreement guarantees that the business remains secure, indivisible, and prepared for further development. It calls for the unconditional and immediate cessation of all mutual legal and administrative proceedings, both in Poland and abroad,” the joint statement emphasized. Notably, Justyna Kulka’s contributions to achieving this agreement have also been recognized in the settlement.
Looking ahead, Zygmunt Solorz has chosen to step back from active management roles in the TiVi and Solkomtel groups, opting instead for an honorary advisory position to share his experience with family members and board advisors. He will not serve on any company boards.
Zygmunt Solorz expressed his confidence in the future of the Group, stating, “I am completely at ease knowing that my son Piotr Żak is at the helm, supported by his siblings, Tobias and Aleksandra, in supervisory roles.” His children conveyed their relief at the resolution, emphasizing their commitment to safeguarding and advancing the legacy built by their father over more than three decades.
The settlement is seen as a pivotal step towards stabilizing the companies and definitively resolving all legal disputes, allowing Piotr Żak to focus on managing the businesses moving forward.
