Matei Radu Aims for Olympic Podium Following Cadet World Championship Bronze

The special project GSP U21, dedicated to young athletes in Romania, returns with a new edition featuring Matei Radu, a fencer from Dinamo, as its fourth protagonist.
GSP U21 aims to spotlight young talents poised to win medals and achieve excellence for Romania. Each episode focuses on promising athletes who embody a champion’s mentality, ambition, determination, hard work, sacrifice, discipline, courage, talent, and passion.
At just 16 years old, Matei Radu has already made a name for himself, winning a bronze medal at the Cadet World Championships in Rio de Janeiro. He boasts a total of 32 medals, including 19 golds.
In an interview conducted by reporter Carmen Dumitru, Radu shared his story in the fencing hall, discussing the sacrifices he has made, his ambition, passion for the sport, and his desire to reach the Olympic podium.
