Kennedy Boateng, 29, and Mihai Lixandru, 25, have achieved their first point with Al Fateh, a Saudi Arabian team they joined this summer from Dinamo and FCSB, respectively.

Their team drew 1-1 away against Al-Faysaly in the third round of the league. This result marks the first point earned this season by the squad coached by Khaled Al-Atwi.

Both players started the match and were pivotal in achieving the team’s first positive result of the current season.

Al Fateh took the lead in the 29th minute thanks to Slovakian Lukas Haraslin. However, just four minutes later, Kennedy Boateng received a yellow card. The visitors’ advantage did not last until halftime, as Al-Faysaly equalized in the 41st minute through Christian Bassogog.

A key moment of the match occurred in the 58th minute when Eid Al Muwallad, the home team’s midfielder, received a second yellow card and was sent off. Despite having a numerical advantage, Al Fateh failed to capitalize, and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Kennedy Boateng played the entire match, while Mihai Lixandru was substituted in the 87th minute for Saad Al Sharfa.

Following this result, Al Fateh sits in 15th place with one point after three matches. In their first two outings, the team lost to Al Nassr Riyadh (0-3) and Al-Ettifaq (0-1). Al Fateh’s next match is a home encounter against Al-Ittihad on August 29.

Mihai Lixandru is valued at €900,000 according to Transfermarkt. He had a contract with FCSB until the summer of 2029, but was deemed outside the club’s plans by Gigi Becali, leading to his transfer to Saudi Arabia.

Kennedy Boateng is valued at €1.2 million. The Togolese player was one of Dinamo’s standout performers last season but opted not to renew his contract, ultimately choosing to move to Saudi Arabia for financial reasons.
