Jannik Sinner’s Injury Update: Strict Rest Prescribed by Doctors

After withdrawing from the US Open, the last Grand Slam of the year, Jannik Sinner’s knee injury underwent further evaluation at the “J Medical” clinic, shedding light on his condition.
“Strict rest” is not something anyone wants to hear from a doctor, but that’s the advice given to Sinner following his visit to the clinic in Turin, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport.
The world number one traveled alone from his home in Monaco to undergo physical therapy and evaluate his recovery progress. Unfortunately, the initial news is not encouraging.
Jannik Sinner Prohibited from Training for Coming Weeks
The diagnosis is clear. While there is no tear, inflammation in his knee persists, leading doctors to restrict him from training until September 6, according to sportal.blic.rs.
It was anticipated that the Italian would resume training shortly to prepare for the Asian tournament in Beijing, scheduled to begin on September 30, marking his expected return to the court.
However, this latest update introduces uncertainty regarding his participation in China. Although the plan remains unchanged, the delay in returning to training by several days serves as a stark warning about the severity of Sinner’s physical issue.
Since winning the title at Wimbledon, Jannik has not played. Following that victory, he withdrew from the US Open, the fourth Grand Slam tournament of the year.
This year’s US Open is set to take place from August 30 to September 13. In 2025, Sinner reached the finals at Flushing Meadows, where he lost to Carlos Alcaraz with a score of 2-6, 6-3, 1-6, 4-6.
