Black Sea Security is a Global Concern, Says Budanov

In a recent interview with the Italian newspaper La Stampa, the head of Ukraine’s military intelligence, General Oleksandr Budanov, highlighted that the Black Sea should not be viewed as a localized issue. He stated, “The Black Sea is not merely a local question. It is crucial for global food security and maritime safety in Europe and the Mediterranean. A country with maritime traditions like Italy can appreciate this reasoning better than most.” Budanov pointed out that since July, Russia has been conducting a campaign against Ukrainian ports, specifically targeting Odessa, Chornomorsk, Pivdenny, and Danube terminals.
