Denis Drăguș’s Future Uncertain as Trabzonspor Prefers Alternative Transfer Conditions

Denis Drăguș, a 25-year-old footballer, has fallen out of favor with Trabzonspor following the club’s acquisition of top-tier players. The Romanian has been linked with several teams recently, but changes at Trabzonspor have complicated his situation.

The arrival of Mohamed Salah has shifted dynamics at the Turkish club, which aims to compete with the nation’s football elite. Consequently, players like Drăguș are expected to take a step back.

Despite not being part of the club’s immediate plans, Trabzonspor intends to retain Drăguș rather than release him without recuperating their investment.

Currently, FCSB has shown interest in acquiring Drăguș but prefers a loan move rather than a permanent transfer. Trabzonspor is not inclined to agree to this arrangement, which complicates the scenario for the Romanian player.

Trabzonspor’s Conditions for Loaning Denis Drăguș

Trabzonspor previously paid €1.7 million for Drăguș, who has already undergone two loan spells with Eyupspor and Gaziantep. Unfortunately, neither club pursued a permanent transfer, as the player failed to perform at a competitive level.

Reports indicate that while Trabzonspor is open to a loan for Drăguș, the club interested must meet specific criteria. Firstly, the team must possess a substantial budget to ensure they can buy him outright at the end of the season if satisfied with his performance.

Additionally, the borrowing club is expected to cover 60-65% of Drăguș’s salary, which is approximately €1.5 million annually.

Sources suggest that both Drăguș and Trabzonspor desire a separation, but the Turkish side is strict regarding the contract’s terms. A loan to a Romanian club appears increasingly unlikely, as no team is deemed capable of meeting the financial demands.

Moreover, Trabzonspor prefers that any loan occurs within the Turkish league for increased visibility. Drăguș is reportedly unwilling to settle for a lower salary, with a minimum expectation of €1 million per season, contingent on the team’s stature.

Drăguș’s Representatives Hesitant About FCSB and CFR

Recently, Gigi Becali and Marius Șumudică have discussed their interest in Drăguș. However, the chances of his move to either FCSB or CFR Cluj are slim, despite personal connections.

Drăguș’s representatives oppose a transfer to FCSB, primarily because of financial disagreements regarding commission payments. Additionally, the instability at CFR Cluj makes it an unattractive option.

Becali has expressed a willingness to bring Drăguș on loan, which Trabzonspor is unlikely to agree to, given they foresee no purchase following such a move.

“I continue to wait for Denis Drăguș. If he comes, that’s good. But he needs to settle things with them; I have nothing to do with it. I won’t pay any transfer fee; I’ll take him on loan if it happens,” stated the club’s owner.

Gică Hagi Discusses Drăguș’s Situation

As the pressure mounts on the Romanian international with national team matches approaching, his chances of getting regular playtime appear diminished. Gică Hagi recently revealed that he spoke with Drăguș regarding his situation.

“We have players who are not playing, including Denis, who is in a complicated position. We will see. I’ve discussed with him, and our staff is involved, not just me. They have been given the initiative to communicate with the players,” Hagi commented.

He expressed hope that Drăguș could resolve his situation soon, ideally within the month, for the benefit of the national team.
