Special Patrol Vehicles Reintroducing Speed Monitoring on Roads

Drivers are being warned to brace for the return of the “Phantoms,” special patrol vehicles designed to monitor speed violations without standing out from regular traffic. This initiative has been confirmed by Interior Minister Vygivsky. The Phantoms were in operation for only one month before the onset of the full-scale war, during which time police held over 26,000 drivers accountable for speeding offenses.
With the reintroduction of these vehicles, there will be an increased focus on penalizing habitual traffic rule offenders. This week, dozens of new automatic speed detection cameras will be deployed to enhance monitoring and enforcement on the roads.
