Roman Shulchevsky’s life was irrevocably altered when he awoke in a hospital to discover that he had lost both hands due to an FPV drone incident in the Pokrovsk direction. Despite this life-changing event, Roman has demonstrated remarkable resilience. Currently, he is undergoing rehabilitation at the TYTANOVI prosthetics center, where he receives round-the-clock support from a comrade.
Initially, Roman struggled to lift his gaze, consumed by the gravity of his situation. However, his outlook has since transformed. He is now learning to use training prosthetics, having taken his first steps towards regaining independence, including the ability to eat unaided. With a smile on his face, he is focused on the next phase of his rehabilitation—osteointegration prosthetics—which he hopes will restore his independence further.
The cost of osteointegration prosthetics for Roman is estimated at 1.5 million UAH for one hand. Efforts are underway to assist him in achieving this dream and reclaiming his autonomy.
