F-Drones Unveils Budget Drone F-Captain with 100 km Range

The F-Captain drone is designed for tactical military operations.

The newly introduced F-Captain drone by F-Drones combines high precision with substantial power, making it capable of destroying key enemy targets. With a maximum take-off weight of 27 kg and a wingspan of 3 meters, the drone can carry a payload of up to 10 kg.

This drone is equipped with a silent electric propulsion system and features both daylight and thermal imaging cameras for continuous reconnaissance and targeting.

According to the company, “Middle strike from F-Drones is engineered for operations in challenging environments against enemy electronic warfare capabilities. Its proprietary navigation and control software allows for operation without GPS signals and seamless integration with radars, air defense systems, and GIS platforms. A secure communication channel supports Starlink alongside digital and analog video feeds. If communication is completely lost during the final trajectory segment, the integrated target recognition system and Last Mile module ensure precise targeting remains intact.”

The name of the F-Captain drone reflects its position in the theoretical military hierarchy of drones.

F-Drones explained, “FPV drones are the ‘sergeants’ of the front line. Heavy deep strike platforms are the ‘generals’ operating in deep rear areas. The F-Captain serves as a ‘middle officer’ managing combat operations at a tactical depth. Executing combat missions at distances of up to 100 km with standard FPV drones is ineffective, while using strategic deep strike systems is impractical from an economic and logistical perspective. The F-Captain perfectly fills this gap, enabling systematic and accurate destruction of enemy equipment and logistics.”

Context

  • Ukraine has exported combat drones to the US for the first time, with 2,000 F10 FPV drones sent as part of the Drone Dominance project for the US Department of War.
  • The Ukrainian defense firm F-Drones has been included in the newly established EU-Ukraine Drone Alliance per a decision by the European Commission.
