SUEK-Krasnoyarsk volunteers joined the annual “Give Books with Love” campaign.

10 years ago, the Association of Culture, Art and Education Workers for Introducing Children to Reading “Raising a Reader” and the Russian State Children’s Library launched the all-Russian campaign “Give Books with Love,” dedicated to International Book Giving Day on February 14.

For many years, the charity event has been supported by coal workers at SUEK-Krasnoyarsk enterprises in Borodino, donating books to children from preschool institutions and pupils of social institutions. This year, on the eve of the holiday, volunteers from the Borodino open-pit mine and the loading and transport department visited children from the “Thumbelina” and “Teremok” kindergartens.

“Miners are always welcome guests,” notes Olga Martynova, head of the “Thumbelina” kindergarten in Borodino. — Career guidance is very important here, since many parents are employees of the Borodino open-pit mine. Well, books are always an excellent and important gift for children’s development. There is no unnecessary “noise” in them, they teach important things – kindness, responsiveness, responsibility, and of course – this is a traditional source of knowledge.”

This time, the miners and railway workers brought everyone’s favorite folk tales, encyclopedias about everything in the world, modern educational publications, as well as unique books created by coal miners to kindergarten students – “Miner’s ABCs”, “The Best Personnel of the Universiade”, and for patriotic activities – “War Heroes – SUEK Heroes”. And, of course, the guests talked to the kids, telling them about how coal is mined.

“I learned what big machines work at the open-pit mine, how coal is loaded into cars to make our homes warm and light, it’s very interesting,” six-year-old Alena Baeva shared her impressions.

“Incredible emotions from communicating with the guys,” says Anastasia Gushchina, specialist in the labor and wages department of BPTU. “They accepted our gift with such delight; they immediately began to look at the pictures with great enthusiasm. Very nice!”.

By the way, the city-forming enterprises of SUEK-Krasnoyarsk organize such actions quite often. They donate not only unique publications published by the Company to city institutions. For example, last year, kindergartens in the city of Borodino and the coal mining village of Dubinino, with the support of coal miners, opened their own museums, which became a link between the past and the future, allowing the little residents of the mining territories to feel involved in the common cause and the fate of their small Motherland.
