Two US Soldiers Killed in Jordan Amid Escalating Iran Conflict

Two American soldiers have lost their lives in Jordan, marking the first fatalities among US military personnel since the recent escalation of hostilities with Iran, as confirmed by the US Central Command (CENTCOM).
In a post on the platform X, CENTCOM reported that the soldiers were killed due to Iranian attacks on US positions in Jordan.
Prior communications from the command revealed that missile and drone strikes from Iran were responsible for the deaths, while a third American soldier remains unaccounted for.
Additionally, CENTCOM noted that four other American soldiers who were evacuated to hospitals in Jordan have since been discharged, and those with minor injuries have returned to duty.
Out of respect for the families, the identities of the deceased soldiers will not be made public until their next of kin have been officially notified, according to the American command.
According to the BBC, the total number of American soldiers killed since the beginning of the conflict in the Middle East has risen to 14.
Jordanian military authorities reported that they intercepted ten missiles launched by Iran during the previous night.
The main US military base in Jordan is located in Azraq, approximately 100 kilometers northeast of Amman. CENTCOM did not disclose the specific location of the casualties.
