Cristi Chivu has officially kicked off the new season at Inter Milan. After returning from the United States, where he attended some World Cup matches, the Romanian coach held his first press conference of the summer. In his address, he stated, “We are ambitious and adaptable. We know how to change, and we want to be brave without complaining. We will do everything we can to be competitive,” emphasizing the team’s commitment to excellence.
Inter Milan’s preparations for the upcoming season began today. The reigning Italian champions regrouped players not involved in the 2026 World Cup at their training facility in Appiano Gentile, under Chivu’s leadership.
During the press meeting, club president Beppe Marotta shared his pride in the team’s achievements, noting that they are the only Italian team participating in four competitions this year, thanks to a unique Super Cup match against Lazio.

Chivu highlighted the motivation needed for his team: “It’s important to rediscover or rather add to our motivation. It is never enough. We want to repeat our successes. After a season where we secured two trophies, we do not want to stop here.”
When asked what makes Inter feel like the best, he explained, “I have now surpassed 50 matches on the bench, compared to just 13 last summer. I will always do my best to instill the right attitude, enthusiasm, and motivation, all of which are essential for a team striving to surpass itself. We fear no one and have never feared anyone. Our only concern is our own progress and ambition. I am confident that we will prove ourselves this season. I am calm and unafraid.”
