“Shame! The guy who failed at Chelsea”

Jamie Carragher, 47, former iconic player of Liverpool, put him on the wall on Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian who detonated the locker room to the “cormorants” with the statements he made at the weekend, after the draw with Leeds United (3-3).
Unsatisfied that Arne Slot kept him in reserve for three consecutive stages, Mohamed Salah went in front of the press and took aim at everyone.
Among other things, the Egyptian said that he was “made a scapegoat, sacrificed, considered the problem in the team”, that the relationship with coach Arne Slot “does not exist anymore” and that “someone does not want me at the club anymore”.
These are statements that shook his dressing room Liverpool and caused a harsh reaction from the club. Salah was excluded from the squad for the Champions League match with Inter.
On Monday night, on Monday Night Football from Sky Sports, an iconic figure of the “cormorants”, Jamie Carragher, 25-year-old Liverpool player, put Salah on the spot!
Jamie Carragher, fiery speech after the exit of Mohamed Salah: “A shame!
“What he did after the match is a disgrace! Some people interpreted it as an emotional outburst. I don't think that was it. When Mo Salah stops in the mixed zone, something he has done 4 times in 8 years, it is something arranged by him and his impresarios to cause maximum damage and strengthen his own position.
He did this before 12 months ago and I took him to task here too, he was banking on touching the fans' heartstrings. Liverpool were top of the table and he had just scored the winning goal at Southampton. That was the time chosen to come forward and put pressure on the owners of the club.
Now, I think he expected a bad Liverpool result. They conceded a goal in the last phase, everyone in the club is on the ground, and he chooses this moment to jump on the coach's neck, to try to fire him?! That's how it seemed to me.
The idea that caught my attention the most is that he would have been sacrificed (no – thrown under the bus). He has tried to do that to the club twice in the last 12 months! To jump at the necks of the owners… These owners paid him hundreds of thousands of pounds a week for 6 years. Last year he complained that they did not offer him a new contract, even though he is 32 years old. (…)
I tried to put myself in Mo Salah's shoes. I was not Mo Salah. Mo Salah is a globally recognized player, famous all over the world. Should such players be treated differently? I think so.
The players of this caliber in the last 8 years are Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappe. I wouldn't put Salah at quite the same level, but he's very close for what he achieved at Liverpool. All these players have privileges, just like Mo Salah at Liverpool. They don't have to defend themselves, they don't have to go down. That is his privilege at Liverpool.
Talk about “sacrificing” people… he sacrificed Liverpool's right back for 8 years! Can you imagine what it's like to play behind him? But I accepted it because he is a superstar, scored 250 goals and gave me, as a Liverpool supporter, some of the best nights of my life. That's why we accept,” said Carragher in the first phase.
Jamie Carragher: “You weren't a big star before Liverpool!”
He continued with a retrospective of Salah's failures:
“One thing I would like to remind Mo Salah and his manager is that before he came to Liverpool, Mo Salah was known as the guy who failed at Chelsea. He had never won a major trophy.
He is the greatest player his country has ever had, but Egypt is the most successful national team at the Africa Cup of Nations, so he is still going there. Well, Mo Salah has never won the competition! I'm not trying to put him down as a player, I said he's one of the best players of the last 8 years, but I want to tell Mo Salah and his manager that it's not about individuals.
You weren't a big star before you came to Liverpool! No matter how good you are, you need help from your coach, teammate and supporters. And in the mixed zone I only heard “me, me, me””.
Mohamed Salah has scored 250 goals in 420 games for Liverpool but has not been at his best this season, netting just 5 times in 19 appearances.
