Pfizer Seizes Polish Aviation Agency’s Funds Amid Vaccine Contract Dispute

The Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PAŻP) announced on Thursday that its account has been seized in connection with a court ruling related to Pfizer’s ongoing legal dispute with Poland.
Pfizer is seeking to recover 5.6 billion PLN for vaccines following Poland’s cancellation of a contract negotiated by the European Commission in 2022. The judicial decision stems from a first-instance ruling by a Belgian court earlier this year.
Before Poland could file an appeal in the Belgian court, Pfizer acted to seize funds owed to the PAŻP that are held in Eurocontrol accounts in Brussels. All route charges currently accrued and future payments are set to be halted until Pfizer’s claim is satisfied or the matter is resolved through other means.
We have requested a comment from Pfizer regarding this situation.
