The anniversary celebrations took place in the sports hall in Toruń. The Holy Mass was presided over by former prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Cardinal. Gerhard Müller, and several archbishops and bishops took part in it. In his homily, the Cardinal said that Radio Maryja is a voice that awakens conscience and strengthens faith.

In a letter read by the head of the presidential office, Zbigniew Bogucki, Nawrocki emphasized that celebrating the anniversary of Radio Maryja is an opportunity to express gratitude and recognition to all those who have created and developed this unique work over the past 34 years. He noted that it is also an encouragement to reflect on the difficult times of transformation, in which Radio Maryja – as an independent radio station deeply rooted in Polish tradition and spirituality – played an important role.

“I heartily congratulate Father Director Tadeusz Rydzyk and the entire religious family of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer. Thank you for a wonderful media service that meets the expectations of multitudes of compatriots. I look with appreciation at the consistency and uncompromising attitude in fundamental matters that have made Radio Maryja a credible preacher of truth, unity and faithfulness for compatriots in the country and around the world,” wrote Naworcki.

The president thanked “for creating a unique center for reflection on the affairs of the Homeland and a center for spiritual formation that surrounds the entire Polish nation with prayers and encourages with words.” He noted that as a historian and president of the Institute of National Remembrance, he had the honor of taking part in restoring the memory of the heroism of Poles saving Jews during the German occupation, and thanks to this he was able to accompany the creation of the Memorial Chapel of the Sanctuary of Our Lady, Star of the New Evangelization and Saint. John Paul II in Toruń.

The President wished the creators and collaborators of Radio Maryja prosperity and unwavering enthusiasm to undertake further valuable initiatives.

The president of Law and Justice, Jarosław Kaczyński, also sent a letter to the ceremony participants, and it was read by the chairman of the PiS parliamentary club, Mariusz Błaszczak.

“We thank the Creator for the invaluable gift of the animator of this great work, the venerable father of director Tadeusz Rydzyk. We thank the Lord God for the beautiful community formed – each in his own way – by the listeners of Radio Maryja, members of the Radio Maryja Family, viewers of Telewizja Trwam, readers of “Nasz Dziennik”, visitors of the “Memory and Identity” Museum, as well as participants of other events” – wrote Kaczyński.

As he assessed, neo-Marxist ideologists and activists want to strangle freedom and build a left-liberal tyranny on its ruins. “They want to format a new man – an individual deprived of Christian and national identity, spiritually sterile, completely externally controlled, deceived by the vision of a light, easy and pleasant life. Hence the attacks of the left-liberal establishment on faith, the Church, attachment to the past and patriotism. That is why the “Memory and Identity” Museum, Radio Maryja and Television are a thorn in the side of these new barbarians. “I am standing,” said the PiS president.

During the ceremony, an extensive letter from former Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General Zbigniew Ziobro was read by MP Michał Wójcik. Ziobro wrote that evil has started fighting again in our homeland, directing its attacks primarily against the Church and believers.

“Donald Tusk's government even attacked the “Lux Veritatis” Foundation. The director's father, a steadfast priest and a great patriot, has been building a work for years that is a beacon of truth amid the darkness of lies and relativism. That is why the law-breaking authorities want to destroy it – because they are afraid of the power of faith. The same is true today of those who created the Justice Fund, helping those in need (…). Today we are being prosecuted for supporting those who build civilization of life and love,” the former minister emphasized. He added that he deeply believed that he would hang the cross again in his former office, which was removed by the new Minister of Justice.

At the end of the ceremony, Father Rydzyk referred to the planned hearing on December 10 as a witness at the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Rzeszów in the case regarding the “Memory and Identity” Museum. Saint John Paul II. He said that he was not angry that he would be interrogated, and that the prosecutor who was supposed to interrogate him felt sorry for her.

Radio Maryja began broadcasting the program on December 8, 1991, on the feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Initially, only residents of Toruń, Bydgoszcz and surrounding towns could listen to the programs 14 hours a day, but over time the station increased its time and range. (PAP)
