Inter Milan Targets Four Players for Upcoming Season Under Cristian Chivu

Inter Milan, the reigning champions of Italy, is actively pursuing players who fit the style of their head coach, Cristian Chivu, as they prepare for the upcoming season with a continued focus on a 3-5-2 formation.

This system will remain in place for the next season, necessitating the recruitment of replacements for key players like Yann Sommer, Francesco Acerbi, Stefan De Vrij, and Matteo Darmian, whose contracts expired at the end of June.

According to the Italian publication gazzetta.it, Inter’s management has been monitoring several players over the past few weeks. The four players under consideration are Anan Khalaili, Trevoh Chalobah, Curtis Jones, and Oumar Solet.

Transfer Updates on Targeted Players

Anan Khalaili, a 21-year-old right winger from Union SG, is a prime candidate as Inter looks to fill the right flank following Denzel Dumfries’s expected move to Real Madrid. Recent reports indicate that Inter is accelerating negotiations for the Israeli player, born in 2004.

Sources suggest the two parties are likely to reach a five-year agreement, with Khalaili’s current club, Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, seeking at least 20 million euros for his transfer. The young talent has been a long-time target for Inter, and the club aims to finalize the deal promptly.

Trevoh Chalobah, a central defender currently with Chelsea, is another high-priority target for Inter. However, reaching an agreement with Chelsea has proven challenging, as they recently rejected a 25 million euro offer from Como, asking for at least an additional 10 million euros.

Contact between the clubs is anticipated in the coming days regarding the English player, who is also part of the national squad competing in the World Cup in the USA, Mexico, and Canada.

Curtis Jones, a 25-year-old central midfielder from Liverpool, is seen as a highly sought-after addition to Chivu’s squad. Despite Inter’s strong interest, no significant progress has been made towards securing his transfer. The club reportedly wanted to offer 25 million euros, whereas Liverpool is aiming for 40 million euros. Jones’s contract expires next summer, leaving the timing of a potential transfer uncertain.

Finally, Oumar Solet, a 26-year-old central defender from Udinese, seems less likely to join Inter as negotiations have stalled. Udinese continues to demand 30 million euros, a figure Inter is unwilling to meet. Additionally, Solet’s history of recurring medical issues could further complicate any potential transfer.
