Harry Kane, the top scorer for Bayern Munich and the England national team, has communicated with representatives from Barcelona regarding their transfer offer.
Kane, 32, has made it clear to Barcelona that he is not interested in their proposal to replace Robert Lewandowski. Reports from the Daily Mail and Bild indicate that Kane plans to extend his contract with Bayern Munich.
According to Bild, “Bayern and Harry Kane are looking to negotiate a contract extension beyond 2027, when his current deal expires. Discussions have been postponed until after the final tournament in the USA, Mexico, and Canada, as the forward wishes to focus solely on the England national team. Bayern is optimistic about reaching an agreement.”
Kane’s Rejection is a Major Setback for Barcelona’s Deco
Bild also reports that “FC Barcelona never had a real chance to sign the star forward. Although the Catalan club expressed clear interest, Kane decided early on to stay with the German champions. The player’s family is also very happy in Munich.”
Kane’s refusal marks a significant blow for Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco. When Bayern first indicated that Barcelona should forget about signing the England international, the former Portuguese international responded ironically, stating, “What are those at Bayern saying? Every player in the world wants to play for Barcelona or Real Madrid; you just need to make them an offer.”
