FCSB Departures for Summer Training Camp in the Netherlands

FCSB has left for the Netherlands on Friday, marking the start of their summer training camp. The team is currently in Venray, but notable absences include Florin Tănase, who was unable to reach an agreement with Gigi Becali regarding a contract extension. The players departed early in the morning from Henri Coandă International Airport.
Among the first to arrive at the terminal were sporting director Florin Cernat and physical trainer Thomas Neubert, who set a relaxed tone for the day. Players Daniel Bîrligea and Juri Cisotti were particularly popular, engaging with fans for photos before boarding.
Attention was drawn to Mihai Lixandru, a midfielder for whom FCSB is in negotiations with DC United from MLS. His departure seems likely as he has requested the owner to facilitate the transfer. While the move hasn’t been finalized, he is training with the team in the Netherlands until an agreement between clubs is reached.
Florin Tănase’s Absence
Florin Tănase’s absence is significant for FCSB, as his contract is set to expire on June 30, and discussions for renewal remain unresolved. His situation has become a hot topic lately, following stalled negotiations. On Thursday evening, Gigi Becali denied claims of an impasse and expressed confidence in a swift resolution, noting that Tănase is also preoccupied with his real estate projects and had requested a loan for investments.
Additionally, the team is missing South African defender Siyabonga Ngezana, who is recovering from recent knee surgery, and Alexandru Pantea, who has been loaned to a club in Greece.
The first training stage will run from June 26 to July 10, during which FCSB is scheduled to play at least two friendly matches. So far, only a match against Union Saint-Gilloise on July 5 has been confirmed, featuring Darius Olaru, the former FCSB captain who transferred to the Belgian side for €3 million. A second friendly is planned for July 8, with details on the opponent yet to be revealed.
