Maspex Expands into Ukraine with Acquisition of Karpackie Wody

Polish food corporation Maspex, recognized as one of the largest food producers in Europe, is making strides in the Ukrainian market. In June, the company acquired an 80% stake in the Ukrainian firm Karpackie Wody Mineralne, according to reports. The transaction is valued between $30 million and $50 million.
With over 30 years of experience, Maspex is well known for its brands, including Kubuś juices, Tymbark beverages, Nestea iced teas, and Lubella pasta. The acquisition of Karpackie Wody Mineralne represents Maspex’s first venture into Ukraine. The founder of the Ukrainian company, Serhij Ustenko, will retain a 20% stake, allowing for continued operational management by the local team.
Maspex Takes Control of Ukrainian Company
Karpackie Wody Mineralne is recognized for brands such as Karpacka Dżerelna, Sokowynka, and Gonzo. This deal, finalized on June 1 after nearly a year of negotiations, aligns with Maspex’s strategy of growth through acquisitions. The agreement grants Karpackie Wody access to Maspex’s product portfolio and technology, with the potential for Polish juice production to start in Ukraine, as a new facility is set to open in Lviv Oblast in August.
The transaction marks a significant milestone as Maspex continues to enhance its international presence, having undertaken over 20 acquisitions, more than half of which are abroad.
